My mom buys me a Page a Day calendar every year for Christmas. This year it is animals with really really stupid jokes. Kate LOVES it. Everyday she is after me to “rip the calendar.” Today’s had an elephant. It turned into something waaaay funnier than what was actually on the calendar.
Kate: Can we rip the calendar?
Me: Yeah. *tears off page*
Kate: OOOH AN ELEPHANT! They’re so cute! What’s it say.
Me: Why do elephants have such incredible memories?
Kate: Why?
Me: *still reading page* Oh… I forget.
Kate: You can’t remember?
Me: No, the answer is “Oh… I forget.”
Kate: *pointing to the joke* Well read the letters!
Me: The letters say, “oh. I forget.”
Kate: You forget how to read letters?
Me: NO! That is the answer to the joke. Oh. I forget is the answer!! I did not forget, the joke forgot!
Kate: Oh.
